GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: Service on a ship by seamen under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Principal Officer, the Government of Gujarat, after careful examination, hereby orders that every seaman carrying on service on a ship shall furnish Form 2 to the Government of Gujarat within ninety days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every seaman carrying on service on a ship shall make an application in Form 2 to the Government of Gujarat within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which service on a ship is undertaken, and the Government of Gujarat shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat.
