GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The placement of domestic workers by placement agencies under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Protection Officer, the Government of Karnataka, after careful examination, hereby orders that every placement agency carrying on the placement of domestic workers shall furnish Form I to the District Magistrate within thirty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every placement agency carrying on the placement of domestic workers shall make an application in Form I to the District Magistrate within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of domestic workers is undertaken, and the District Magistrate shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
