Mumbai, dated the 3rd February, 2008

GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION

Subject: The possession of excisable articles by persons in possession under the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Excise Officer, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every person in possession carrying on the possession of excisable articles shall furnish Form C to the Collector within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession carrying on the possession of excisable articles shall make an application in Form C to the Collector within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the possession of excisable articles is undertaken, and the Collector shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government resolution may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Maharashtra.
