No. 3759/2001.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 2000 (Maharashtra Act 16 of 2000), the State Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts financial institutions whose annual value of the business of a financial institution does not exceed fifty thousand rupees from the provisions of section 4 of the said Act, subject to the condition that every such person shall intimate the Debts Recovery Tribunal in writing of the commencement of the business of a financial institution within seven days of such commencement.
