No. 1528/1997.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 of the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1993), the State Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts operators of a ferry whose annual value of the operation of a ferry does not exceed one hundred rupees from the provisions of section 4 of the said Act, subject to the condition that every such person shall intimate the Gram Panchayat in writing of the commencement of the operation of a ferry within thirty days of such commencement.
