No. 875/1961.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 1959), the State Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts operators of a ferry whose annual value of the operation of a ferry does not exceed one hundred rupees from the provisions of section 4 of the said Act, subject to the condition that every such person shall intimate the Gram Panchayat in writing of the commencement of the operation of a ferry within fifteen days of such commencement.
