No. 1114/1914.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the State Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts transporters whose annual value of the transport of excisable articles does not exceed five thousand rupees from the provisions of section 4 of the said Act, subject to the condition that every such person shall intimate the Commissioner in writing of the commencement of the transport of excisable articles within sixty days of such commencement.
