S.O. 2709(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Defence and Internal Security of India Act, 1971 (42 of 1971), the Central Government hereby appoints the 4th February, 1972 as the date on which the provisions of sections 1 to 4 of the said Act shall come into force.
