S.O. 733(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of 1948), the Central Government hereby appoints the 20th August, 1948 as the date on which the provisions of sections 1 to 14 of the said Act shall come into force.
