S.O. 623(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Calcutta Land-revenue Act, 1856 (18 of 1856), the Central Government hereby appoints the 5th August, 1857 as the date on which the provisions of sections 1 to 8 of the said Act shall come into force.
