STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors of Police,

Subject: The repair of firearms by repairers of firearms under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 1999), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the repair of firearms by repairers of firearms.

2. The matter has been examined. Every repairer of firearms carrying on the repair of firearms shall make an application in Form V to the Licensing Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Inspector of Police shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
