STANDING ORDER

All Assistant Regional Transport Officers,

Subject: The plying of a contract carriage by owners of a contract carriage under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985 (Kerala Act 21 of 1985), the Transport Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the plying of a contract carriage by owners of a contract carriage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a contract carriage carrying on the plying of a contract carriage shall make an application in Form 30 to the Government of Kerala within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer shall ensure that certificate of fitness is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Kerala.
