STANDING ORDER

To

All Executive Engineers,

Subject: The treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011 (Karnataka Act 25 of 2011), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a sewage treatment plant carrying on the treatment of sewage shall make an application in Form E to the Canal Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Executive Engineer shall ensure that reservoir is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Canal Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
