STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Medical Officers,

Subject: The practice of medicine by registered medical practitioners under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 1949), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the practice of medicine by registered medical practitioners.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registered medical practitioner carrying on the practice of medicine shall make an application in Form 28 to the District Registering Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Chief Medical Officer shall ensure that test report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Registering Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
