STANDING ORDER

To

All Insurance Medical Officers,

Subject: The carrying on of a self-employed occupation by self-employed persons under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978 (Kerala Act 20 of 1978), the Labour Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carrying on of a self-employed occupation by self-employed persons.

2. The matter has been examined. Every self-employed person carrying on the carrying on of a self-employed occupation shall make an application in Form 12 to the Standing Committee within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Insurance Medical Officer shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Standing Committee within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Kerala.
