STANDING ORDER

To

All commanding officers,

Subject: The execution of defence works by contractors for defence works under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002 (Karnataka Act 1 of 2002), the Home Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of defence works by contractors for defence works.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for defence works carrying on the execution of defence works shall make an application in Form C to the Cantonment Board within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The commanding officer shall ensure that lease deed is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Cantonment Board within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Karnataka.
