STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintendents of the Copying Department,

Subject: The practice of law by legal practitioners under the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1955), the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the practice of law by legal practitioners.

2. The matter has been examined. Every legal practitioner carrying on the practice of law shall make an application in Form B to the Legal Services Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Superintendent of the Copying Department shall ensure that court fee stamp is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Legal Services Authority within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
