STANDING ORDER

To

All Seed Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage under the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act, 1959 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1959), the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cold storage carrying on the running of a cold storage shall make an application in Form A to the Government of Karnataka within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Seed Inspector shall ensure that produce is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Karnataka.
