STANDING ORDER

All Superintendents of the Home,

Subject: The running of an open shelter by open shelters under the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 1993), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of an open shelter by open shelters.

2. The matter has been examined. Every open shelter carrying on the running of an open shelter shall make an application in Form III to the Juvenile Justice Board within three days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Superintendent of the Home shall ensure that complaint is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Juvenile Justice Board within three days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
