STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Excise Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 2 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Odisha.
