STANDING ORDER

To

All Child Welfare Officers,

Subject: The employment of adolescents by employers of adolescents under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1982), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the employment of adolescents by employers of adolescents.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of adolescents carrying on the employment of adolescents shall make an application in Form I to the Committee within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Child Welfare Officer shall ensure that protection order is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Committee within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
