STANDING ORDER

To

All Site Managers,

Subject: The management of a museum by curators of a museum under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1966), the Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of a museum by curators of a museum.

2. The matter has been examined. Every curator of a museum carrying on the management of a museum shall make an application in Form VIII to the Heritage Committee within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Site Manager shall ensure that guest register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Heritage Committee within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
