STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputies Commissioner of Excise,

Subject: The manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Tourism Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of excisable articles shall make an application in Form D to the Collector within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that label is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Punjab.
