STANDING ORDER

All Seed Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1987), the Agriculture Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cold storage by operators of a cold storage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cold storage carrying on the running of a cold storage shall make an application in Form C to the Registrar within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Seed Inspector shall ensure that produce is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
