STANDING ORDER

To

All District Child Protection Officers,

Subject: The running of a child care institution by child care institutions under the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women Act, 1993 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 1993), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a child care institution by child care institutions.

2. The matter has been examined. Every child care institution carrying on the running of a child care institution shall make an application in Form V to the State Commission for Women within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The District Child Protection Officer shall ensure that case file is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Commission for Women within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
