STANDING ORDER

To

All Executive Engineers,

Subject: The use of water for industry by users of water for industry under the Bombay Irrigation Act, 1879, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Irrigation Act, 1879 (Maharashtra Act 7 of 1879), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of water for industry by users of water for industry.

2. The matter has been examined. Every user of water for industry carrying on the use of water for industry shall make an application in Form B to the River Basin Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Executive Engineer shall ensure that water course is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the River Basin Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
