STANDING ORDER

All Adjutants,

Subject: The carrying on of a trade within a cantonment by traders within a cantonment under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carrying on of a trade within a cantonment by traders within a cantonment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every trader within a cantonment carrying on the carrying on of a trade within a cantonment shall make an application in Form B to the Cantonment Board within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Adjutant shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Cantonment Board within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
