STANDING ORDER

To

All Food Inspectors,

Subject: The hawking of food by hawkers of food under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977 (Maharashtra Act 9 of 1977), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the hawking of food by hawkers of food.

2. The matter has been examined. Every hawker of food carrying on the hawking of food shall make an application in Form A to the Commissioner of Food Safety within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of seven thousand five hundred rupees.

3. The Food Inspector shall ensure that container is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner of Food Safety within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra.
