STANDING ORDER

To

All Divisional Canal Officers,

Subject: The sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well under the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act, 2005 (Maharashtra Act 18 of 2005), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a tube well carrying on the sinking of a tube well shall make an application in Form A to the Ground Water Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Divisional Canal Officer shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Ground Water Authority within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
