STANDING ORDER

To

All Press Registrars,

Subject: The running of a cinema by owners of a cinema under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 23 of 1964), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cinema by owners of a cinema.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a cinema carrying on the running of a cinema shall make an application in Form IV to the Advisory Panel within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Press Registrar shall ensure that programme is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Advisory Panel within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka.
