STANDING ORDER

To

All Ground Water Officers,

Subject: The sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011 (Karnataka Act 25 of 2011), the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a tube well by owners of a tube well.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a tube well carrying on the sinking of a tube well shall make an application in Form G to the River Basin Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Ground Water Officer shall ensure that dam is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the River Basin Authority within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka.
