STANDING ORDER

To

All Controllers of Weights,

Subject: The business of clearing and forwarding by clearing and forwarding agents under the Bombay Money-Lenders Act, 1946, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Money-Lenders Act, 1946 (Maharashtra Act 31 of 1946), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the business of clearing and forwarding by clearing and forwarding agents.

2. The matter has been examined. Every clearing and forwarding agent carrying on the business of clearing and forwarding shall make an application in Form G to the Controller within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Controller of Weights shall ensure that agreement is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Controller within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
