STANDING ORDER
To
All Inspectors of Chits,
Subject: The business of a firm by firms under the Karnataka Money Lenders Act, 1961, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Money Lenders Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 12 of 1961), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the business of a firm by firms.
2. The matter has been examined. Every firm carrying on the business of a firm shall make an application in Form E to the Government of Karnataka within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Inspector of Chits shall ensure that contract is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within fourteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
