STANDING ORDER

To

All Probation Officers,

Subject: The care of children in an institution by child care institutions under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998 (Maharashtra Act 20 of 1998), the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the care of children in an institution by child care institutions.

2. The matter has been examined. Every child care institution carrying on the care of children in an institution shall make an application in Form I to the Government of Maharashtra within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Probation Officer shall ensure that will is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Maharashtra.
