STANDING ORDER
To
All District Collectors,
Subject: The transport of hazardous chemicals by transporters of hazardous chemicals under the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 20 of 2003), the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the transport of hazardous chemicals by transporters of hazardous chemicals.
2. The matter has been examined. Every transporter of hazardous chemicals carrying on the transport of hazardous chemicals shall make an application in Form B to the Director of Fire Services within three days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The District Collector shall ensure that plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Fire Services within three days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat.
