OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a hospital by hospitals under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the running of a hospital by hospitals is to be regulated under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007.

2. The matter has been examined. Every hospital carrying on the running of a hospital shall make an application in Form 20 to the Drugs Controller within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a hospital is undertaken, and the Drugs Controller shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
