OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The production of plastic packaging by producers of plastic packaging under the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the production of plastic packaging by producers of plastic packaging is to be regulated under the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964.

2. The matter has been examined. Every producer of plastic packaging carrying on the production of plastic packaging shall make an application in Form VI to the Government of Karnataka within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the production of plastic packaging is undertaken, and the Government of Karnataka shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Karnataka.
