STANDING ORDER
To
All Revenue Inspectors,
Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 58 of 1961), the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 12 to the State Government within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that certificate of occupancy is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
