STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973 (Puducherry Act 9 of 1973), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Puducherry hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every grazier on Government waste land carrying on the grazing of cattle on Government waste land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Puducherry.
