STANDING ORDER

To

All Civil Defence Officers,

Subject: Service as a civil defence volunteer by civil defence volunteers under the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Fire Service Act, 1985 (Tamil Nadu Act 11 of 1985), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to service as a civil defence volunteer by civil defence volunteers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every civil defence volunteer carrying on service as a civil defence volunteer shall make an application in Form C to the District Authority within three days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Civil Defence Officer shall ensure that fire safety certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Authority within three days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
