STANDING ORDER
To
All Plant Protection Officers,
Subject: The cultivation of land by farmers under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1961, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 (Maharashtra Act 24 of 1961), the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land by farmers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every farmer carrying on the cultivation of land shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Plant Protection Officer shall ensure that certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Maharashtra.
