STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Officers,

Subject: The import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Goa Act 5 of 1964), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor.

2. The matter has been examined. Every importer of liquor carrying on the import of liquor into the State shall make an application in Form H to the District Excise Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Officer shall ensure that stock register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Excise Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Goa.
