OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The management of a museum by curators of a museum under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Energy Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the management of a museum by curators of a museum is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960.
2. The matter has been examined. Every curator of a museum carrying on the management of a museum shall make an application in Form II to the Director General within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the management of a museum is undertaken, and the Director General shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Maharashtra.
