OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1974, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Urban Development Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh on the manner in which the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land is to be regulated under the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1974.

2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 3 to the Settlement Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of allotted surplus land is undertaken, and the Settlement Officer shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
