STANDING ORDER

All Assistant Charity Commissioners,

Subject: The management of a waqf by mutawallis under the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987 (Andhra Pradesh Act 30 of 1987), the Finance Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of a waqf by mutawallis.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mutawalli carrying on the management of a waqf shall make an application in Form C to the Registrar of Societies within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Assistant Charity Commissioner shall ensure that trust property is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Societies within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
