New Delhi, dated the 6th April, 2009

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The irrigation of land from a canal by cultivators of irrigated land under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on the manner in which the irrigation of land from a canal by cultivators of irrigated land is to be regulated under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cultivator of irrigated land carrying on the irrigation of land from a canal shall make an application in Form D to the Ground Water Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the irrigation of land from a canal is undertaken, and the Ground Water Authority shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
