STANDING ORDER

All Deputies Director of Education,

Subject: The running of a hostel by hostels under the Karnataka Education Act, 1995, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1995 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a hostel by hostels.

2. The matter has been examined. Every hostel carrying on the running of a hostel shall make an application in Form C to the Board of Secondary Education within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Director of Education shall ensure that question paper is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Secondary Education within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
