OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The care of children in an institution by child care institutions under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the care of children in an institution by child care institutions is to be regulated under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997.

2. The matter has been examined. Every child care institution carrying on the care of children in an institution shall make an application in Form II to the Registrar of Marriages within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the care of children in an institution is undertaken, and the Registrar of Marriages shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
