STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 7 to the Land Tribunal within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Gujarat.
