STANDING ORDER
To
All Excise Inspectors,
Subject: The working of a brewery by brewers under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a brewery by brewers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every brewer carrying on the working of a brewery shall make an application in Form F to the District Excise Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.
3. The Excise Inspector shall ensure that stock register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Excise Officer within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of West Bengal.
